§ Questions
What people
ask me most.
These are the questions I get every week. If yours isn't here, write me directly.
01 ——
How much does a Maori tattoo on the arm cost?
+Depends on size, area and sessions. A full sleeve Polynesian piece is usually between €1,500 and €3,000, in 3-5 sessions of 4-6 hours. For specific estimates, send me a photo of the area and references via WhatsApp.
02 ——
Does a Polynesian tattoo hurt more than a regular one?
+Pain depends more on body area than style. Ribs, inner arm and neck hurt more than shoulder or thigh. Polynesian pieces often have large solid black areas, which extends the session, but the intensity per minute is similar to any other style.
03 ——
How many sessions for a full sleeve?
+A complete Polynesian sleeve usually closes in 3-5 sessions of 4-6 hours each, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Exact time depends on design complexity and client tolerance.
04 ——
Do you design custom Polynesian tattoos without copying from the internet?
+Yes. I design each piece directly on your body, freehand. If you bring references, I use them to understand the spirit, not to replicate. Every piece is new.
05 ——
Do I need an appointment? How long does it take?
+I only work by appointment. My calendar is usually 2-6 weeks ahead, depending on project size. For small pieces, 2-3 weeks. For bodysuits, several months.
06 ——
How long is a typical session?
+A standard session is 4-6 hours. For large pieces (sleeves, backs) I can extend to 7-8 hours if the client holds. For small pieces, 2-3 hours is enough.
07 ——
Can I choose my own Polynesian symbols?
+We discuss it in consultation. I'll explain what each symbol means and how it fits your story and body. Your intent leads, but composition is mine.
08 ——
Do you tattoo facial Tā moko?
+No, unless you're Maori or have verified ancestral permission. Facial Tā moko is genealogical and ceremonial. I respect it from the craft. I do work Kirituhi, the Maori contemporary version offered to non-Maori.
09 ——
What aftercare does a large tattoo need?
+First 48-72h: clean with neutral soap and water, dry gently, apply healing cream 2-3 times a day. Week 2: scab fall. Month 1: piece sealed. Year 1: SPF 50 sun protection so ink doesn't fade.

Do you offer discounts for large projects?
+I don't charge by strict hour rate. For long projects (bodysuit, full back), we agree a closed total budget at the start. The idea is you know the cost before we begin.
